Privacy Policy

This page tells you what data Chat XP keeps. It also tells you why we keep the data and how you control it.

What we do not collect

The bot does not read the text of your messages. The bot uses only basic Discord permissions. For this reason, Discord does not send the message text to the bot. The bot sees only that a message was sent, and in which channel.

What we collect

We keep this data for each server:

  • The Discord server ID, channel IDs, and role IDs.
  • The Discord user ID of each member.
  • The XP total, the level, and the highest level of each member.
  • The time of the last message from each member.
  • Quest progress, such as the count of channels or replies for the day.
  • The count of messages each hour, for the charts. This is a number only.

When an admin logs in to the dashboard, we use Discord login. We then see the admin's Discord account and their list of servers. We use this only to show the correct servers.

Message history

The bot can read past messages one time, to build the activity charts. The bot counts the messages only. The bot does not keep the message text.

Why we keep the data

We keep the data to give XP, levels, and tier roles. We also keep the data to run the quests and to show the charts. We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for ads.

Who can see the data

A server admin can see member XP and levels in the dashboard. Other members can see ranks through the bot commands, such as the leaderboard. We do not share the data with other companies.

How long we keep the data

We keep the data while the bot is in the server. When you remove the bot, we mark the data as deleted. Ask us to fully delete the data if you want. Send the request to the contact email.

Your choices

  • An admin can reset a member's XP in the dashboard.
  • An admin can remove the bot to stop all tracking.
  • A member can ask an admin to reset their XP.

Children

The service is for Discord users. You must be old enough to use Discord.

Changes to this policy

We can change this policy. We show the new date at the top of this page.
