Tier roles

Last updated: 24 September 2026

A tier is a level range in your server. Each tier gives one coloured role. The role shows the rank of a member with a colour. This page tells you how a tier role works. It also tells you how to use one of your own roles.

The two kinds of tier role

Each tier uses one of two kinds of role. You select the kind on the Tiers page.

  • Automatic role. The bot makes this role for you. The bot sets the name, the colour, and the group option. You control these on the Tiers page.
  • Your own role. This is a role that is already in your server. The bot gives this role, but the bot does not change it. This option needs the Premium plan.

What "Automatic role" means

"Automatic role" is the standard choice. The bot makes a coloured role for the tier. The bot keeps the name and the colour the same as the Tiers page. You do not make the role yourself.

A tick (✓) next to "Automatic role" means the bot made the role. This is the normal setup.

How to use your own role

You can link a tier to a role that is already in your server. This option needs the Premium plan. Do these steps:

  1. Open the Tiers page.
  2. Find the tier in the table.
  3. Open the menu in the Role column.
  4. Select your role from the menu.
  5. Click Link.
  6. Click "Re-sync all members" at the bottom of the page.

What changes when you link a role

  • The row shows "Linked" and the name of your role.
  • The name and the colour come from your role. The Name field and the Colour field do not apply to this tier.
  • The Min level field still applies. It sets who gets the role.
  • The bot does not rename, recolour, move, or delete your role.

How to go back to an automatic role

  1. Find the linked tier in the table.
  2. Click Unlink.
  3. Click "Re-sync all members" at the bottom of the page.

The bot makes a coloured role for the tier again.

Important: one role for each member

A member holds only one tier role at a time. When a member moves to a new tier, the bot removes the old role and adds the new one.

Do not link a role that gives special permissions that a member must always keep. The bot removes that role when the member moves to a different tier.

Premium

The link option needs the Premium plan. A linked role continues to work if the plan ends. But you cannot make a new link without the plan.
